BIO

The Shell Collector is a Berlin based band originally formed as the brainchild of Enrico Tiberi (Nrec, Dark Side Bright Side, 4Oceans). The project gave Tiberi a platform to experiment with some of his best riffs and ideas combining Rock, Pop, Progressive together with cinematic, psychedelic and classical elements, ultimately resulting in a full band line-up in 2012.

Inspired by bands the likes of Baroness, A Perfect Circle, Verdena, Wheel, King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard and the Grand Astoria, the Shell Collector moulded their sound to be eclectic, yet moves through different genres for an unforgettable rollercoaster ride.

The Shell Collector released it's first EP "2 is the Beginning of an Army" in 2013, followed by the in 2013 released cover song “Brave” (from Katatonia) and the EP Rain Songs including The Who’s cover song Love, Reign O’er Me. The band's first full length album “Medusa” was released in May 2014, followed by the single “Now or Nevermore” in 2015 and the EP Innocence Dear, a collaboration with writer and sculptor Giorgio Serafino early 2016

In 2020 The Shell Collector released the live album "Raw and Improvised from a Studio in Nalepastrasse", an improvised jam session recorded in the legendary recording studios of Funkhaus in Berlin, Germany, celebrating the end of fascism that occured during the first half of the 20th century. The EP "Puppet" was released shortly after in late 2020, exploring the new sound the band developed with it's newly added bandmembers.

All music is self-produced and recorded in Lullaby Studios and Pink Flying Elephant Studios II (Berlin, Germany) and is independently released by “Tuna Records”.

In 2016, with Tiberi moving to Berlin (Germany), the Shell Collector became fully formed and added Gianluca Gulino (HBRD, Animal Riot, Ex-King For A Day) on bass/vocals, Kay Ketting (Rocketting, The Sunpilots, ex-Airborne Kid) on drums/vocals and Marco Gennaro (Dark Side Bright Side, ex-Mammoth Mammoth) on guitar to the new line-up.
Their shared love for Rock, Progressive, Metal and Psychedelic shapes the backbone of The Shell Collector's new sound.

The Shell Collector's forthcoming full length record release "Archetypes" is due 1st quarter of 2023, with it's first single "Miracles" set to be released September 1st 2022.

Thanks for reading this far in!

"Archetypes” is the new album of The Shell Collector. A live piece self-recorded in a Berliner cabin documented by film director Giuseppe D'Addurno.
Each song is released as a videoclip and a standalone experience: a fearless trip through genres and moods.

"Miracles”, first single and album opener, skyrockets featuring elements of thick metal riffs and melodic vocals all the way to groovy instrumental funk in odd claves and dissonance.
The song introduces the hyperactive mood of the band and the lyrics are an atheist anthem that celebrates the acceptance of the death of god as the birth and flourishing of one’s self-awareness, a transmutation that happens by meeting one’s shadow
